This operating system is built to work on a dual core processor that clocks 1 GHz speed on s Media Tek MT6572E CPU. It has a random access memory of 512 megabyte. This is one major no-no for this phone even though most low end phone that are released almost the same time have same RAM. This makes the phone lag most times and sometimes it hangs completely if you overload with application. So most applications that are upgrade do not work perfectly on this phone and often times the number of installed apps is limited sue to low Random access memory.

It features a 4 inch screen size giving room for more display than Tecno p3. It has a TFT capacitive touchscreen with curved edges and 256,000 colours. It resolution is 480 by 800 pixels at 233 pixels per inch. It has a higher PPI and a perfect resolution for its screen size which made the phone perfect for pictures movies and small.
Tecno p5 was laid with 3.75G band network which was a bit rare among the low end phone in 2013. This made the phone surf the internet faster, and download at a fine speed. On 3 g, it uplink speed goes up to 5.76 megabits per second and downlink speed up to an astonishing
22.2 megabits per second while on GPRS, it is up to 85 kilobits per second and 236.8 kilobits per seconds on EDGE though doesn’t support 4G. It supports GSM 900 / 1800 MHz bands on 2G network and high speed data packet access (H+) HSPDA 2100 MHz band on the 3G network. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot.

The primary camera has a light emitting diode flash, it supports HDR image capture, face and smile detection and can snap up to 2560 by 1920 pixels. The secondary camera can snap up to 1600 by 1200 pixels. The phone record video with both front and back camera at VGA quality. Tecno p5 supports MP4 / MPEG4 / H.263 / H.264 video player and MP3 / WAV / eAAC+ / AC3 / FLAC audio player. the loud speaker produces a very good output though not very loud.

doesn’t support NFC. It has a micro USB version 2.0 with a 3.5 mm audio jack. It also features
a hypertext markup language 5 for its browser, with SNS integration. Other features include accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass, ambient light sensor, document viewer and editor, image viewer and editor, FM radio (which require an earphone for its antenna and doesn’t work without one). It also supports predictive text input, voice memo, dial and command.
Under the back cover is a removable li-Ion battery with a capacity of 1800 mAh. The battery is quite small but it does well cater for the phone for averagely a day. Tecno claims 288 hours of standby and up to 8 hours 30 minutes of talk time but it usually does not last that long.
Physically, the phone features in the front, the ear speaker vent right at the top middle with the ambient light sensor beside it at the right hand side and the front camera at the left hand side. Tecno is written boldly below the ear speaker and the screen just below it covering about 80 percent of the total surface. Just below the screen it the three soft button, from the left is the options button, then the home button in the middle while the return button is on the right. The front is well rounded at about 3 mm radius on all four sides. At the top, the phone has the USB charging port on the left hand and the 3.5 mm audio jack at the right hand side. On the right side, the phone features the volume buttons while the power button is placed on the right. The bottom is free except for the mouth piece opening. The phone is a portable phone at an affordable price of #14,000 to about #19,000. Though you have a very slim chance of getting a new one since the production has stopped. It is not available either on Jumia or Konga as it has been replaced by Tecno p9, Tecno Y4 and other new products.
